A book? Not usually much of a "reader" (cheers Bill) however, Miranda July... I was thinking about how much I enjoyed "Me you and everyone we know" (Film- A MUST SEE). And wanted a bit more from her, I'd seen her website before, Learning to love you more. And enjoyed that so thought 'd try out her book. Short stories which is great for me, with a short attention span. I've read 2 so far.... and yeah. Go buy it! Its called; "No one belongs here more than you". Its fun and really like reflects "MYAEWK" in the sort of awkwardness of her character. Which leads me to think she is just a bit of an awkward person. But lovely.

Check it out. It was pretty cheap on Amazon too. £3 or so?

Right. So. This is an image I took on my digital camera. An attempt at the every day. But I just don't get it. I can't take a good digital photo. Film is fine. I think its about seeing the image straight away. I need to give up to image processing to someone else so the image has time to mature with me. So when I receive the image slight hints of nostalgia hit...

So I was thinking I'll just turn the screen of my camera off. But no I don't think thats going to work either. I think its the prints that I want. Receiving prints is the easiest way to filter down images.

Good showers are awesome. Showers with glass pannels somewhere near by or windows are even better. I love to draw/write in the condensation.

If the shower is strong and boiling hot I enjoy sitting beneath it like hot rain.

God "they"'re annoying. I'm not going to mention who incase they sue me for using my OWN bloody images. Basically had some run in with the copyright police. (i.e a snot nose woman behind a desk.) Who got me to sign papers that, to my knowledge, Relinquish the copyright of the images I've taken.
She basically didn't know anything about copyright. And I don't know enough. Really need to polish up my skills in that area. Get reading.

The overall outcome was basically that I cannot publish the photos in any shape or form. And if they request, i must provide them with my negatives/files. But I think I signed a release form which allows me to do it. So I'm going to fucking do it.

Anyway this craving that I had can be blamed on my girlfriend talking about what cup cakes she wants to make for her interview on Monday. (Good luck. But you know if you get the job I'm only going to get fat.) But yes. That triggered me to get out of bed (23:30 was hoping for an early one.) and walk in the rain to the shop. But it was totally worth it. I also bought Coke and some Paprika crisps. They added to the awesomeness of the snack (Or is it a binge?/ INDULGENCE).

Yeah this is a weird thing to find myself saying but... If I was a red Indian... my spirit animal would be a bear. I'm convinced I've noticed more bears in the last month than any other moving thing. And this (Pictured above). Is one of them. This proud critter was at Leeds City Museum. I took this photo using my scanner camera. It was pretty dark in there, but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out.

When you're house mate goes into the kitchen to put some chicken nuggets and chips into the oven. You do not expect to hear; "Hey guys! There's a man with a knife in our back garden."

It however, is what I heard yesterday. Good news is... he had peanut butter with him. And the knife wasn't to murder us, or anyone in fact. It was rather to turn a large metallic rat trap into what looked like a delicious piece of peanut butter on toast. Because apparently we have rats. As if a roof and ceilings that cannot retain water wasn't enough, we have a colony of rather large rats in our back garden.

It was FULL of 40 odd year old Pill poppers dancing like crazy to the most 90's tunes you've ever heard. It was called Retro-Trax.

Yes, after waking up after the most sleep I've had in a while. I wait for the shower, who's current occupant sounds like he's coughing up more mucus than an 80 Year old smoker. I decided I'd RE-RE-go back and attempt to carry on with a blog.

I always suffer from "I don't know what to write syndrome." I guess I could show the photography I've been doing with a cardboard box strapped loosely to the side of a scanner. But actually i think i might show you my font... because it might NEVER see the light of day after the trouble I've been having with FontLab Studio.

I'm calling it Okkur, because I was designing it for a zine/blog that probably wont ever happen. Oh well... (It means Us in Icelandic.)

Today has been a weird day. Everything seems to be centred around animals. Especially bears.
This morning as i was walking to university a girl with grey gloves growled at me and made scrunchy hand movements (Claws). Then talking to my friend Mike about what he wants to do as his next project, he wanted to do some album artwork/posters and stuff for a band with Bear's in the title (I've forgotten the actual name). Then we went on the computers and as I was looking at Photography/Illustration, just about everyone seemed to be doing stuff around Bears and animals! Might seem pretty boring now but it was interesting to me at the time.

So, this film looks rubbish, in my opinion. And the game looks even worse. But worst of all is the flipping posters, enough of the half face design. Face/Off Did it and many many other films have too. Can we get some nice poster design back? What happened to people caring about their advertising. Some of the good posters I've seen recently though (on a more positive note (I'm also going to apologise in advance for jumping on the band wagon for this)) is Where The Wild Things Are, easily my most anticipated film of the year, what a lovely poster they've made for it. Also, check out the poster for Moon that came out last year? Davie Bowies sons? Sci-fi film. That was pretty good too.

So recently I discovered my scanner as an way of producing work. Really enjoying making and the process that I have started to create doing so. Here's a couple of examples.

This firstly is an image I took with my Diana F+. Took to a shop and got developed. Then scanned.

And second, I have been attempting to create grotesque portraits. Almost caricatures. That are funny, but also fairly dark... scary even?

Tonight my brain is going haywire. This post is almost for me more than anything (it's not as if anyone even reads this anyway). My synapses must be healthy today. These ideas are like SUPER clear. I don't want to post them and ruin the surprise to my audience of probably nobody, but I hope they're fun/light hearted/maybe a bit quirky/very cinematic (Its conceivably going to be a short film/video).
